Unexpected Interest #3

So a few people I'm friends with have constantly brought up this show called "Daria". I heard about it before but never had the intent to watch it until I found out that the voice of Ceres on my Unofficial Milky Way team based her voice on the titular protagonist.

(Coincidentally, Ceres does look a lot like her, both in terms of look and personality)
The first thing that came to my mind was Velma Dinkley, due to the brown hair and glasses.

So I decided to watch a little to get an understanding on how the voice sounds, but then I just kept watching it, and watching it, AND WATCHING IT, and now I'm just so ADDICTED TO IT I binge 3 episodes a night. HOW??

Daria's sarcastic personality makes her extremely hilarious when she delivers her lines. Ironically, I would have a major dislike towards her if she was real because I can't handle people who speak "honest" in a way that sounds so rude/unsatisfying 90% of the time (no offense to anyone). She's just a cartoon, so it's completely ok.

If anyone saw Beavis and Butthead (I will eventually) they should remember Daria Morgendorffer who appeared recurring. And because of her popularity BOOM we have this.

My favorite is definitely Jane Lane. I like how she behaves just like Daria most of the time (hence their best friendship) but sees things more in a positive light.

Others I really like include Brittany Taylor (I favor goofy/cute characters), Quinn Morgendorffer (especially when she goes EWWW!!!), and Stacy Rowe.

BUT, I HATE Sandi Griffin due to her popular jerk trope.

Go watch this show, it's epic!

  1. honestly, im not in love with the art style, it just seems a little flat (sorry). even webanimations that i follow devoutly like Underverse and Glitchtale (big undertale fan here, sorry again if you hate the fandom) have at least 1-2 layers of shadows to make it look less flat.

but, interesting interest! what is the story like?

  2. Daria recently moved out of her old town where Beavis and Butthead reside with her mother Helen, father Jake, and fashion-obsessed sister Quinn. They move to a new town called Lawndale.

Daria's sarcastic personality limits her friendships, but is often seen with her best friend Jane Lane, who wants to be an artist one day.

Her sister Quinn is part of a fashion club, though it's small with four members. The president, Sandi, is portrayed as very bossy.

I can't exactly explain a perfect premise myself but it's very fun to watch, as Daria delivers her messages in hilarious ways.
